Bio
London-based photographer Gary Salter has built a career on curiosity, humour, and a keen eye for storytelling with a cinematic touch. With a background in Graphics and Photography, he blends spontaneous, character-driven imagery with refined commercial production for clients around the globe.
His personal projects—such as Old Footballers, Pig Man, and Incrimination—act as creative playgrounds, sparking larger campaigns and delving into the quirky, often-overlooked moments of everyday life. “I’m constantly inspired by people and the stories hidden in plain sight,” he says.
Over the years, Gary has earned a reputation as a go-to celebrity photographer, working with a wide range of notable figures—from Hollywood icons like Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson to sports legends and world-renowned chefs. His portraiture reveals the human side of public figures with subtlety and wit.
Gary is also known for his ability to connect with younger subjects, leading to many successful child-focused photography projects.
His work has received numerous international awards, but it’s the ever-changing, unpredictable nature of photography that continues to drive him. “No two days are the same—and that’s exactly how I like it.”
